Providence Public School District PPSD

In PPSD, there is a lottery for registering for elementary, middle, and high school and tutors can help their tutees with the registration process! Students are given preference to attend their "neighborhood school" (the school closest to where they live) though 20% of spots at each school are reserved for students who do not live in the neighborhood. Schools offer different programs, so it is important to review the school profiles before making a decision about where to attend. (For example, some schools do not offer English Language Learner, Special Education, or extracurricular programs.)  More information about the registration process can be found on the PPSD website.
In addition to registering for the PPSD lottery, students can also participate in charter school lotteries. More information about applying to charter schools can be found on the Charter School page.
